⚖️ Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy describes activities that are prohibited when using the Free DNS Project.
We may suspend or remove any domain or user account violating this policy.
1. General Principles
The Free DNS Project exists to promote open, secure, and reliable DNS hosting.
Users must act responsibly and not endanger the integrity of the service or the wider internet.
2. Prohibited Uses
The following uses are strictly prohibited:

Hosting domains for illegal content or operations.

Distributing malware, viruses, or harmful scripts.

Running DNS zones for phishing, spam, or scams.

Supporting command-and-control (C2) or botnet infrastructure.

Infringing intellectual property rights.

Obscuring or misusing identity information in domain records (e.g., fake WHOIS).
3. Security and Abuse

Users must secure their accounts and promptly report unauthorized access.

Abuse reports can be sent to abuse@freednsproject.org
- Confirmed abuse may result in zone deletion and permanent suspension.
4. Resource Limits
To maintain fair use:

Free users may host a limited number of domains (as defined by admin).

Excessive or automated queries may be rate-limited.

Bulk or API users must request approval.
5. Cooperation
We may cooperate with law enforcement or security organizations to investigate abuse or illegal activity involving the service.
6. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in:

Suspension or termination of service.

Deletion of DNS records or zones.

Notification to relevant authorities (if applicable).
